Transport of raw boards in the engineered wood industry

We transport raw boards in your production on plastic chain conveyors. The different designs vary depending on the loads to be transported. Alternatively, we also use roller conveyors. Two-line chain conveyors are used to transport pallets, lattice boxes or special containers. Via turntables and right angle stations, the raw board stacks are turned according to the requirements for their further processing. Transfer cars pick up the goods from the warehouse and bring them to the respective converting machine and back to the warehouse.

Plastic chain conveyors for transport of raw boards

Due to different board dimensions and the resulting loads, we distinguish between a normal and a heavy-duty version for plastic chain conveyors in raw board transport.

Plastic chain conveyors in the normal load range are subject to loads of up to 6500 kg and 500 kg/m² with a regularly flat supporting surface.  Products with higher weights must be transported on heavy-duty conveyors. The heavy-duty conveyors can handle loads of up to 8000 kg and 2300 kg/m². For higher weight requirements, please contact us! Plastic chain conveyors in heavy-duty design

Plastic chain conveyors in heavy-duty design reflect the same positive characteristics for an optimum transport of flat materials like the conveyors for normal loads:

The reinforced version means that the motor, frame, feet, etc. are designed in a more solid way to ensure an optimum product transport.
Surface weights of up to 2300 kg/m² are common for the reinforced version. For surface weights above 2300 kg/m², the conveyor technology in special design is examined and manufactured according to the respective requirements.


Vertical lift

Taking into account limited space available, it becomes more and more interesting to optimize the storage capacity with regard to space requirements. For this purpose, MINDA offers the solution of transporting the storage goods on two or more levels by means of vertical lifts.
The vertical lift is designed in accordance with the product requirements and can easily be used for transporting furniture and engineered wood boards.

Turntables

The requirements for flat engineered wood materials are versatile, which also affects the further processing with the corresponding fiber direction. In order to meet these demands, our turntable with working widths up to 2100 mm provides an infinitely variable turning of the stacks up to 180°.

Curved conveyors can have a negative impact on the material, as in this case it is directed by means of a guide unit and can thus be damaged. A turntable ensures that the turning is done in a space-saving way and without any damage to the material.

In addition to simple turning, a right angle station can be integrated into the turntable to change the length/width ratio at the same time. A turntable with two separately driven conveyors can also be used, if two loads have to be picked up in a parallel way.


Transfer cars

Transfer cars connect the warehouse with the converting machines. These rail-guided ground conveyors connect storage lines with each other and ensure a continuous feeding or discharge of the goods to or from the converting machines for a smooth production flow. 

The design and construction of the car, as well as its customized speed adjustment represent the optimal conditions for the transport of raw wood boards. Transfer cars with one or two decks with speeds of 150 m/min. are used.

The visualization and control software MINDA MoveIT ensures a fully automatic control and optimal transport routes without loss of time.


Safety always in focus - transfer cars are equipped with two laser scanners at each end. A further protective measure for persons is achieved by protecting the front side with foam cubes.


Right angle stations

Right angle stations allow 90° direction changes of the engineered wood stacks. Especially for spatially limited environments with constructional obstacles right angle stations might be reasonable.

The designs can be realized either as plastic chain conveyor/chain conveyor or as roller conveyor/chain  conveyor. Depending on the project, the right angle stations are variable in length and width.

Right angle stations with double plastic chain conveyors are capable of separately discharging two stacks of engineered wood, which were picked up in parallel.

Furthermore, right angle stations can also be fixed on turntables, allowing any change of transport direction in a very confined space.


Roller conveyors

Roller conveyor for the use and transport of flat transport goods

Roller conveyors can be used for the transport of a wide variety of goods. Especially in the furniture and engineered wood industry, there are many applications where transport by roller conveyors is used.

Last but not least, roller conveyors are an optimal transport system for the furniture and engineered wood industry due to their high load capacity and low-maintenance handling.

As an alternative to the plastic chain conveyor, the roller conveyor is indispensable for the use and transport of flat transport goods. Depending on the conveyor length, the use of roller conveyors can also provide a cost advantage.


Two-line chain conveyor

Two-line chain conveyors are used for transporting heavy materials stacked on pallets/special pallets (cross direction), lattice boxes or special containers.

Their simple and modular design enables a wide range of applications. Due to the open construction, good maintenance conditions are given. Nevertheless, the two-line chain conveyors are characterized by a high degree of stability and are therefore ideally suitable for the transport of heavy goods.
