Donation handover 2021

Last year, employees involved in social projects could again submit proposals to MINDA as part of the "MINDA Cares" donation project. The total donation amount provided by the company was mutually divided by the submitting employees between three projects, which we would like to present hereinafter:

Additional cooking opportunity for the primary school in Ruli / Ruanda.

The Bürgerschützen-Bataillon Lohfeld-Hainholz annually organizes a children's festival as part of their Family Day. The focus of this Family Day is always on the children. The desire to continue traditions such as this village festival for further generations and to put a smile on the children’s faces was particularly important. In a burglary in the storage room of the association, all outdoor games, pavilions, presents and various accessories had been stolen or destroyed, so that several new purchases had to be organized for the upcoming Family Day. MINDA Cares could provide support and ensure great joy especially to the children.

Another project that could be supported by the MINDA Cares donation was the "TVG Kilometer Challenge 2021". After challenging months for team sports, the idea came up to cover as many kilometers as possible in the categories running, walking and cycling within one week. For each kilometer achieved, an amount was donated by sponsors. The TVG is particularly interested in youth work, so that part of the donations went to the youth department of the JSG LIT 1912. Another part of the donations will support the circus project "ZappZarap" in cooperation with the elementary school Nordhemmern for 2022. The educational circus workshop is intended to enrich the normal school days and teach skills such as patience, concentration, self-confidence and teamwork through playful learning. With this donation, MINDA especially supports the next generation.

The third donation reached the primary school in Ruli / Rwanda via the association Ikiraro e.V.. Since October 2021, the school offered almost 900 pupils to have a warm lunch. To solve this - also logistical - challenge, the association already donated large bowls, dishes and spoons in addition to the basic equipment provided by the state of Rwanda. In addition, however, there was a lack of another cooking opportunity, since until now food for the nearly 900 pupils could only be cooked on one stove. Here MINDA Cares supported with a donation, so that a second stove with a content of 400 liters as well as shelves and tables for the kitchen could be purchased directly at site. The principal Alphonse expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of the children and the staff for MINDA's renewed support of the primary school.

This year, we are again excited to see which projects we may support with the MINDA Cares donation and hope to receive many new suggestions from our socially committed employees.
